The main activity is related to the physics of stellar atmospheres, including the magnetic fields in the radiative transfer.

In detail:

  • effect of magnetic fields on atomic levels, with the most advanced approch related to the optical pumping (Leone et al. 2018, MNRAS 480, 1656)
  • design and construction of the necessary instrumentation: high resolution spectropolarimeters
  • plasma in laboratory to reproduce the astrophysical enviroments
