Riccardo REITANO

Associate Professor of Physics of matter [FIS/03]

Riccardo Reitano graduated in Physics in 1986 and his PHD in 1991. After a period as post-Doctoral Fellow at the Division of Applied Sciences of the Harvard University, he was appointed as Researcher in 1996 and then Asoscite Professor in 2005 at the University of Catania. He teaches Spectroscopy (course in Physics), Biomolecular Spectroscopy (course in Sanitary and Cellular-Molecular Biology)and Physics (cours in Pharmaceutical Chemestry and Technology).

In 2018 he co-founded and now direct the multidisciplinary research center "L'ora del mare".

Since February 2022 he is President of the Master Degree Course in Physics.

Over the years my research interests has been focused on the growth, modification and characterization of materials for microelectronic applications, photics, and on nanometerials for microelectronics and sensor applications. Moreover, spectroscopic techniques have been applied to the characterization of particle accelerators plasmas sources .

Riccardo Reitano is President of the Master Degree Course in Physics and Director of the multidisciplinary research center "L'Ora del Mare".
