After graduating in Physics from the University of Catania, Valeria is currently a Ph.D. student in Complex Systems for Physical, Socio-economic and Life Sciences. She has also been a Quantitative Risk Analyst for IRB Model Development.
Fake news and social bots. Her research project is focused on identifying fake news and studying the behavioural dynamics of bots and human activity in order to detect differences in spreading news within social networks. Her recent research fields of interest include technologies for analysing and processing text data (Text Mining and Text Analytics), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, and agent-based modelling.
