The scientific activity belongs to the field of strong interactions physics in extreme conditions of density and temperature. The first part of the career it has been mainly devoted to the study of the phase diagram of nuclear matter in the region of large baryon chemical potential and the study of the properties of neutron stars. Currently the research activity is mainly focused on the physics of quark gluon plasma in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions.

The research activity has produced over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals, including collaborations with professors from various universities and foreign research centers: Texas A&M University (USA), Paris Saclay University, CNRS (France) , Bielefeld University (Germany), Bergen University (Norway), Bucharest University (Romania).
