Responsabile scientifico: Francesco CAPPUZZELLO

Vasileios Soukeras was born in Corfu (Greece) on September 24th, 1989. He received his Bachelor's and Master degree in Physics from the University of Ioannina, Greece in 2011 and 2013, respectively. His PhD was successfully obtained in 2017 with grade “Excellent” from the University of Ioannina, Greece by presenting a PhD thesis entitled “Study of the 6Li+p system in inverse kinematics with the MAGNEX spectrometer” (Supervisor: Prof. A. Pakou). During the period 01/02/2018 – 30/06/2019 he was a postdoctoral researcher at INFN-LNS under the NURE ERC project while, during the period 01/07/2019 – 30/06/2021 he was a postdoctoral Fellow under INFN Fellowship Programme in Experimental Physics at the same institution. Since 01/07/2021 he is a research fellow at the Department of Physics and Astronomy “E. Majorana”, University of Catania under ERC project NURE. He is a (co-)author of 43 publications in peer-review Scientific Journals (in which 15 as main author) and 67 publications in Conference Proceedings. He has received several fellowships from the National Scholarship foundation in Greece including 2 ERASMUS scholarships for traineeship in INFN-LNS. He has participated in more than 30 experiments at INFN-LNS (Italy), INFN-LNL (Italy), HIL (Poland) and NSL-Notre Dame (U.S.A.). He is an active member of the NUMEN group having contribution in several sub-projects of NUMEN. His research interests include several topics of experimental nuclear physics with emphasis in nuclear reactions with weakly bound nuclei, double charge exchange reactions with possible connection to neutrino-less double beta decay, mass spectroscopy, nuclear reactions in inverse kinematics and Monte Carlo simulations.
