The laboratory host a 10-nanoseconds pulsed Quanta-Ray Pro-Series Nd:YAG laser operating at various wavelengths.
It is routinely used to:
  1. modify materials and thin film as metals and semiconductor;
  2. rapid laser annealing of materials;
  3. production of nanostructures on surfaces by laser irradiations of thin films;
  4. production of nanostructures in liquid media (colloidal dispersions) by laser ablation of bulk material target in solutions.

The system is versatile and allows to change process parameters (energy, wavelength) for customed-designed experiments devoted to the nanoscale modification of materials and nanomaterials fabrication.
