Detailed Course Content

Path integral, functional formulation of field teories, scalar and Dirac fields, quantum electrodynamics, renormalization; abelian and non abelian gauge teories, functional formulations of gauge teories, spontaneous symmetry breaking, goldstone theorem , Higgs mechanism. Phenomenology of weak interactions. Standard model of electroweak interactions. Quarks and colors, Quantum Chromodynamics and asymptotic freedom. QCD phenomenology.
