Stefania Pasquale is a PhD student in Material Science and Nanotechnology at the University of Catania after a position of research fellow at National Institute for Nuclear Physics, Section of Catania, in “Diagnostics for characterisation and dating of archaeomaterials in Cultural Heritage and CHNet IPERION CH.it/E-RIHS networks”. She received an MSc in “Sciences for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage” from Parma University in 2011. Her research interests are colour science for polychrome works of art characterisation and material science applied to cultural heritage.

Stefania Pasquale's research activity is focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructired materials for the preservation and restoration of polychrome artworks belonging to cultural heritage. In particular, Stefania is testing the application of titanium dioxide nanoaparticles that, thanks to the photocatalytic acivity, are able to protect from deterioration a lot of archeomaterials.
