Big Bang nucleosynthesis at astrophysical energies
A research team of the DFA nuclear astrophysics group ha conducted an experiment in collaboration with INFN, University of Notre Dame, UJF Praha, University of Perugia, University of Padova, University of Naples which gave important results for the Big Bang nucleosynthesis. In this work, the Trojan Horse Method was applied to extract the cross section at astrophysical energies for the 3He(n,p)3H reaction and the astrophysical impact is discussed. Part of the research was performed by Tania Zanatta Martinez MSc student in Physics at DFA (curriculum NucPhys), for her final project (Supervisors: Profs. Rosario Gianluca PIzzone, Maria Letizia Sergi and Stefano Romano). DFA researchers Profs. Livio Lamia, Giuseppe Rapisarda and Silvio Cherubini also participated to the measurement.
The paper appeared in the latest release of The Astrophysical Journal as a regular article.
