Gauge and parameterization dependence of Quantum Einstein Gravity within the Proper Time flow

Martedì 5 maggio 2026, con inizio alle ore 12:00, presso l’Aula C del DFA, il Dott. Giovanni Oglialoro terrà un seminario dal titolo Gauge and parameterization dependence of Quantum Einstein Gravity within the Proper Time flow.
Il seminario appartiene al ciclo Young Physicists to Young Physicists (YP2), organizzato dai Rappresentanti del Dottorato in Fisica.
Abstract: A complete UV description of the quantum theory of Einstein gravity remains one of the major unsolved problems in theoretical physics, due to its perturbative non- renormalizability. The Asymptotic Safety conjecture, proposed by Weinberg, together with Reuter’s non-perturbative approach, suggests that the theory may be non- perturbatively renormalizable. In this talk, I will discuss the uphysical dependecies within the proper time functional flow equation, in the context of Asymptotic Safety. I will show that these dependecies have minor influence on the critical properties of the theory, and present the possibility to isolate them by employing the Essential Renormalization Group
