Samuele Sottile PL

Hi everyone, my name is Samuele Sottile. I participated to my first Erasmus experience at the first semester of my last year of BSc in Physics from October 2012 until March 2013. Later during my master studies, I would have been an Erasmus student again.

I always wanted to try some exchange experience abroad, so whenever I had the possibility to do it I chose to go to a place, which would be exotic and completely different than my hometown. Then the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) was the best choice I have ever made, together with my friend and colleague Silvio.

Before starting the Erasmus I didn’t know what to expect about it but I was definitely very excited about it. Now after so many years I can say that that experience changed completely my life.

I think that was the happiest period of my life, I travelled quite a bit, I had a lot of fun and I met a lot of good friends whom I still talk to. Moreover that experience made me improve as a person, since I had to live on my own for the first time and I have to solve all the possible issues on my own. Professionally, it helped me because I could experience different teaching styles and I could also improve my English vocabulary and my fluidity when talking about Physics in English.

I definitely have to thank my first Erasmus in Poland, since afterwards I started to travel so much and I am now working in Sweden.
