Search for extraterrestrial life

Giorno 4 novembre 2019, dalle 10:00 alle 12:00, presso la Sezione Astrofisica del DFA (c/o Osservatorio Astrofisico di Catania), la Prof.ssa Joanna Molenda-Żakowicz (Astronomical Institute, Wroclaw University, Poland) terrà un seminario dal titolo Search for extraterrestrial life. Il seminario è organizzato dalla Prof.ssa Patrizia Fiannacca (Dipartimento di Scienze Biologiche, Geologiche, Ambientali) e dal Prof. Francesco Leone (DFA) nell'ambito del Programma Eramus+.

Tutti gli interessati (specialmente gli Studenti del CdL magistrale in Physics) sono invitati a partecipare.

Abstract. Are we alone in the Universe? That long-standing question may soon be answered thanks to the continuously improving, sophisticated scientific methods and the rapidly developing space exploration of the XXI century. In my talk, I will present the results of the current investigations and the research programs aiming at discovering extraterrestrial life in the Solar System and beyond. Sooner than expected, the extraterrestrial life may be not just only about believing!
