Courses starting dates, 2nd period 2019/2020

Some of the information below has of course been superseded by the impromptu modifications due to the necessity of delivering lectures online.

Lessons of the courses for the 2nd teaching period of the A.Y. 2019/2020 will normally start on March 2nd, 2020, according to the courses plan available online.

Exceptions or variations will be listed below, as soon as information will be provided by the courses Teachers:

  • Elementary Particle Physics I (Prof. Albergo) will start on March 9, rather than on March 2
  • Experimental Methods for Particle Physics (Prof. Albergo) will start on March 10, rather than on March 3
  • Semiconductor Physics and Technology (Prof. Mirabella) will start on March 9, rather than on March 2
  • On Wednesday March 4, an additional class of Photonics (Prof. Lo Faro/Mirabella) will be held in spite of Semiconductor Physics and Technology
  • Nuclear Reactions Theory (Prof.ssa Colonna) will start on March 9
  • Quantum optics (Prof. Piccitto) will begin in the week starting on March 9
  • Environmental physics laboratory (Prof. Immè) will begin in the week starting on March 9
  • Physics of complex systems (Prof. Rapisarda) will start on March 10
  • Advanced mathematical methods for physics (Prof. Falsaperla) will start in the week starting on March 9 (Please, contact Prof. Falsaperla to express your interest in attending the course, and arrange possible amendments to the timetable)
  • Superconductivity (Prof. Angilella and Prof. Falci): Prof. Angilella and Prof. Falci will alternate their teaching periods, and more information will be given to those attending the course. Prof. Angilella will teach in the afternoon hours, Prof. Falci will teach in the morning hours, as per timetable. Prof. Angilella will start on Tuesday March 3 at 15:00 in Aula I. (Please, contact Prof. Angilella by e-mail, so that a mailing list can be formed.)
  • Solar physics (Prof. Zuccarello) will start on March 12
  • Radioastronomy (Prof. Trigilio) will start on March 9
  • Materials and nanostructures laboratory (Prof. Reitano, Prof. Ruffino, Prof. Mirabella) will start on March 23
  • Nuclear astrophysics (Prof. Romano) will start on March 11
  • Space physics (Prof. Pirronello) will begin in the week starting on March 9
  • Data analysis techniques for nuclear and particle physics (Prof. Politi, Prof. Tricomi) will start on March 9
  • Theory of strong interactions (Prof. Greco) will start on March 12
  • Archaeometry (Prof. Gueli) will start on March 10

Due to the ongoing renovations in Aula A (and in Aula B), the lectures of Theory of strong interactions (Prof. Greco) will take place in Aula 41 DMI on March 5, 12, 19 (Thursday), or until Aula A will be available again. Lectures on Friday 11:00-13:00 will take place in Aula E, as per timetable.
