Luigi Amico is Associate Professor at the Department of Physics & Astronomy, University of Catania, member of IMM-MATIS-CNR, associate member of INFN-Laboratori Nazionali del Sud, and staff Visiting Professor at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (Singapore).  After graduating at Politecnico di Torino and Ph.D. at the Università di Catania, he held research fellow positions at the University of Augsburg and Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and  Visiting Research Professor at: Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (Canada), Rutheford Appleton Laboratories (UK), Centre for Quantum Technologies (Singapore), Centre de Physique Théorique de Grenoble-Alpes (France), and Neel Institute (France). Prof. Amico has a documented long term experience on quantum statistical mechanics and theoretical solid state physics with specific application to quantum information and cold atoms physics; his expertise includes non-perturbative methods for strongly interacting quantum systems, critical phenomena, mesoscopic physics, physics of magnetically ordered systems, physics of trapped ultra-cold atoms. Dr. Amico is author of more than 80 papers with current h-index equal to 22. His papers have been cited more than 4000 times and he presented more than 80 invited talks. His publications include articles in high impact journals (1 Nature, 1 Review of Modern Physics, 10 Physical Review Letters, and 2 Phys. Rev. X).  He is member of the Editorial Board of 'Scientific Reports' and has acted as Associate Editor for  International Journal of Modern Phyics B and New Journal of Physics.
