FameLab strikes back in Catania

Catania is to host again FameLab, the international famed competition for science communication open to young researchers and university students. FameLab is the first talent for science. Participants have to win the enthusiasm of both jury and audience in only three minutes of science talk. The aim is to convey a scientific topic of their interest in a clear and convincing way, without lack of rigour. FameLab 2019 will simultaneously take place in 12 cities where 20 finalists will be selected for a masterclass in science communication in April, in view of the national final competition (May 2019) and the international final competition, to take place in Cheltenham, UK, in June 2019.

For the third time, FameLab will also take place in Catania. Selections are coordinated by the University of Catania through the Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia "E. Majorana", in collaboration with INAF – Osservatorio Astrofisico di Catania, Laboratori Nazionali del Sud and Sezione di Catania dell’Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Istituto per la Microelettronica e i Microsistemi del CNR, Piano Lauree Scientifiche, Centro Siciliano di Fisica Nucleare e Struttura della Materia, Scuola Superiore di Catania, Young Minds Catania, Accademia Italiana per la Promozione della Matematica. Radio Zammù and Zammù TV are the media partners.

The selection for FameLab Catania 2019 includes two pre-selections and a final selection, which will take also at the #DFA, at the end of February 2019. Deadlines, rules, and subscription form are available here.
