Arte e(') scienza 2018

From December 1 to December 2 2018, at the Civic Museum Castello Ursino in Catania, the la 5th edition of Arte e(') scienza will take place. This is a national event involving researchers showing the potential of scientific applications towards archeological sites and/or museums. This is also an opportunity to think over the vital relationship between cultural heritage and scientific techniques in studying archeological sites and items, in the reconstruction of the historical environment, in the diagnostics of works of art, in the preservation of our artistic and cultural heritage.

The event is organized by Associazione Italiana di Archeometria (AIAr). AIAr is the leading scholarly society of researchers in the field of scientific applications in cultural heritage. It promotes contacts among researchers in different disciplines, both scientific and humanistic, with the common aim of diagnostics, restoration, preservation and promotion of artistic items.

Professors Anna Maria Gueli (DFA) and Filippo Stanco (DMI) are among the organizers in Catania.
