Global warming and societal impact

Global warming implies risks for the environment, as well as for human beings. But not all suffer from them at the same way. This is what is demonstrated by a recent study entitled Half a degree and rapid socioeconomic development matter for heatwave risk, published on Nature Communications. Increased socio-economic development in low development countries can reduce the risk of people suffering serious harm from heatwaves. The main co-author of the paper is Dr Simone Russo, a former student at #DFA, now researcher at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra (Italy).
