Impact of research on society

In addition to Research and Education, the Department of Physics and Astronomy carries out activities of the so-called Third Mission or Societal impact of the Research, which is developed in two macro-areas:

• CULTURAL AND SOCIAL MISSION which concerns activities that produce "public goods" of social, educational and cultural nature, enjoyable by everyone.
• ECONOMIC EXPLOITATION OF RESEARCH, through a process of transformation of scientific results into productive knowledge, with economic and commercial applications on the market.
